The curriculum of Family Upreach, Inc. (DBA: NewLife Behavior Ministries) creates a comprehensive body of study leading to a discovery of a meaningful and personal relationship with God. It contains 195 individual lessons spread through fifteen courses, including the Children’s Edition. Most courses are available in Spanish as well as English. They have been field-tested and edited for over thirty-five years.
The NLB curriculum is to facilitate individuals seeking reconciliation with God, families, and society. It fits people in all walks of life. It has been well received by Christians and non-Christians. It first and most exhaustive use has been in prisons as a Ministry of Hope. The material was gained the respect and admiration of prison officials in many states. Although not a “Bible” course, the Bible is used as the basic text in producing changes in thinking, attitudes, and behaviors.
Most ministries focus on evangelism (bringing a lost soul to salvation). We applaud such efforts, and our True Freedom and Seeker courses do this. However, we have heard the complaints of prison officials who see church folks wanting to come in and “save” everyone on Sunday. The question they ask is, “Who will come in here on Monday through Friday and teach prisoners how to change the way they live . . . combative, cursing, lying, stealing, drinking/drugging, gambling, sexual immorality, etc.?” To this, we say . . . “Welcome to NewLife Behavior Ministries”!
