Your Gift Counts
Family Upreach, Inc. (DBA: NewLife Behavior Ministries) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization founded in Dallas, Texas by Dr. H. M. Motsinger in 1984. Buck Griffith has been President since July 2002. The central office in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dr. Motsinger founded NewLife Behavior International (NLBI) in 2008 to promote the NLB curriculum outside the United States. Mike Biggers currently serves as President of NLBI.
NLBM is a “curriculum-based” program that researches, develops, designs, publishes and distributes teaching material to reconcile persons to God, their families and society. We also recruit and train volunteer instructors throughout the USA in the best use of the material. We now have 3500 instructors with “Regional Directors” scattered throughout the USA.
NLBM exists through the generosity of churches, businesses, foundations, trusts, and individuals who are committed to helping transform negative behaviors to positive.
The NLB curriculum is often used inside prisons, with prisoners’ families, ex-offenders, and any person seeking recovery from addiction. The curriculum now consists of 15 courses, including a Children’s Edition. They are not Bible courses, but the God’s Word is used as the common thread. Almost all the material is available in Spanish as well as English.
Ways You Can HelpRegular financial support helps NLBM meet the daily challenges of a ministry this size and growing. NLBM does not have paid employees. Everyone is a volunteer. In this way, 100% of funds received go directly to support the work getting done! Many send monthly gifts to NewLife Behavior Ministries, P. O. Box 270720, Corpus Christi, Texas 78427-0720. Our physical address is 3833 S. Staples, Suite S-101, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411-5221. In addition to thanking you, we are happy to notify the individual or family. We send them information about this ministry so they can appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity even more. Required IRA Distribution
If you have an IRA and are of a certain vintage, you know about required minimum distributions each year. We are grateful to those designating Family Upreach, Inc. (DBA: NewLife Behavior Ministries) as the recipient. Your investment going IN saved taxes but 70% becomes taxable unless you make a direct distribution to a nonprofit like Family Upreach. You then pay zero taxes plus the ministry benefits. We rejoice that Congress voted to make permanent the exclusion from income per year (up to $100,000 per person or $200,000, if married) when donated directly to a charity. You may wonder, “HOW do I do this?” Simply notify your CPA or financial advisor of your desire. You will be asked for our name, tax ID number and address:
Family Upreach, Inc.

Used Vehicles
We call this project “OLD CAR = NEW LIFE.” The vehicle does not have to be a car. It may be a van, pickup, truck, bus, motorcycle, 18-wheeler, farm tractor, RV, boat, yacht, freighter, submarine, cruise ship, railroad engine/car/caboose, helicopter, or jet aircraft.
Don and Carol gave us their old car when they purchased a new one. They discovered the dealer did not value their old car much so Don said, “It will make a good car for an ex-offender or his family to get back and forth to work and church. I would rather donate it to Family Upreach than give it away to the dealership!” Don and Carol received a nice tax deduction and helped a person make a U-turn in a life that had been turned in the wrong direction for far too long. Hence, “Old Car = New LIFE!”
When donating a vehicle, you will be asked a few questions. Please have the Vehicle Identification Number ready. The vehicle does not have to be in “running” condition, but you must be the owner and possess a clear title to it. You will normally be contacted about having the vehicle picked up in 4 to 5 working days.
Reports
We publish and distribute regular reports from our central office to keep donors aware of what we are accomplishing here and throughout the United States of America. This information is also shared with workers everywhere and is a part of their ongoing training. It is not possible to remain 100% informed of every aspect of a ministry this large. This fast-moving and changing work is hard to keep up with but these reports are helpful.
